In Osnaburg Local School District, students are our first priority. Our purpose in the curriculum department is to create a learning environment that:

  • helps all students meet or exceed state standards

  • provides responsive and appropriate intervention

  • promotes student leadership

  • encourages meaningful parent and community involvement

  • provides real world learning experiences

  • respects individual and cultural differences

  • provides a rigorous student-centered curriculum

Although the State of Ohio Academic Content Standards serve as the foundational basis for the curriculum, we strive to deepen student understanding by incorporating content and skills that best prepare students for the 21st century.  The following link highlights the skills your child should know and be able to do at each grade level.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. ~ Margaret Mead

Content Areas

Two of Stark County’s major goals are collaboration and staff development. Both of these are addressed and achieved through the work of the Educational Service Center. The work is based on a vision of “Honoring the Wisdom of the Teacher,” in which teachers are seen as the key link in improving student achievement. Components of the vision are teacher as leader, teacher as a source and facilitator of change, teacher as reflective practitioner, and teacher as a member of an on-going professional learning community. This vision is implemented through structures called Program Management Teams, where Lead Teachers, and Professional Learning Communities exist across the school districts of Stark County.
